The Art of Effective Help: Beyond Financial Assistance

Greetings, fellow friends and business enthusiasts! Today, I want to share a perspective that goes beyond the conventional wisdom of offering financial aid when someone is in need. While financial help can be valuable, it's not always the answer. Let me illustrate this with a few examples from my own experiences.

Example 1: Opportunities vs. Self-Doubt

I once had a friend who was struggling in life. To help him, I offered opportunities, but he couldn't make use of them. It wasn't a lack of financial resources that held him back; it was self-doubt and a lack of confidence. In this case, my financial help wasn't effective enough.

Example 2: Capital Investment for a Fresh Start

Another instance involved providing capital investment to a broke friend to start a new business. Three years later, he found himself back at square one. It was a clear indication that financial assistance alone wasn't a lasting solution.

People often expect financial aid, and we sometimes oblige by giving them money, often borrowing it ourselves. But we should ask ourselves, what's the expiry date for such help? Are we expecting the money back, or are we looking for a more enduring way to assist?

Example 3: The Power of Skills

Over time, I discovered that the most effective help we can offer someone is teaching them valuable skills and providing knowledge. I shared my expertise, often unknowingly, with friends and acquaintances. Some went on to use these skills to start their own businesses, including digital marketing agencies.

To take this idea to a larger scale, I founded "Daily Skills," an online platform for skill learning. The results have been remarkable. Those who acquired skills through this platform continue to grow, and our relationships remain strong.

In essence, the best way to help people is to empower them to earn their income. Equipping them with skills and knowledge not only offers immediate assistance but also provides a sustainable foundation for their future. It's a form of help that keeps on giving, fostering personal growth and strengthening relationships.

So, the next time someone seeks your assistance, consider going beyond the realm of financial aid. Explore how you can help them develop skills, gain knowledge, and earn their income. It's a powerful way to make a lasting impact on their lives and create a more meaningful connection. After all, as they say, "Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day; teach them how to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime."
